Fun for any birthday party, here are some facts about Mickey to use in a trivia game:

• Mickey Mouse was created in 1928 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. Walt Disney played the voice of Mickey. Disney celebrates his birthday as November 18, 1928 on his debut in Steamboat Willie.
• After the fall through of Walt Disney's Oswald Series, Mickey, after several other character ideas, was created from the inspiration of Walt's pet mouse he had as a child growing up on a farm.
• Ever wonder where Mickey and Minnie's gloves came from? Supposedly one reason for adding the white gloves was to allow audiences see their hands when they were against their bodies, since their skin was black. (Mickey did not appear in color 1935). The three black lines glove backs are fabric darts extending from between the digits of the hand, which was typical of kid glove design of the time.
• In honor of his 50th anniversary, in November of 1978, Mickey became the first cartoon character to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
• Mickey Mouse has always been in competition with Warner Bros.' Bugs Bunny for popularity. But in 1988, the two rivals finally shared screen time in the Robert Zemeckis film Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Disney and Warner signed an agreement stating that each character would have exactly the same amount of screen time, down to the micro-second.
• Mickey met his girlfriend Minnie on their first appearance together in the film "Plane Crazy" where Mickey tries to kiss Minnie!
• Mortimer was the original name for Mickey, but Walt Disney's wife Lillian convinced him to change the name. Mortimer ended up being the name for Mickey's rival character!
